Ok, so I have been a bit lazy keeping you up on the details of my exchange and been putting off writing on this for a while so here you are, a fairly decently detailed entry to my blog.
Although this might be the first really detailed and, hopefully not, the last entry, I hope that you enjoy it.
So since my last entry I have been up to so much and have been enjoying myself immensely!
School has become very routine, and all the people are so welcoming and friendly it’s really good, although I still feel as though I belong in a zoo a little. My German class with the 12 year olds is becoming a little easier and I understand more and more, although I still don’t speak great, I am trying hard.
On the 7th of March I headed off to Schladming for a week long ski camp with all the exchange students, including the ones who have been here since August last year. It was great fun, and even though I am not the most coordinated person in the world I think that I did fairly well in regards to skiing. The weather was not great for most of the week which was a disappointment but we did lots other than skiing, such as going into the town for the afternoon and exploring the little town of Schladming which was good fun.
Every day there managed to be a trip to the hospital, luckily I was not one of them, but there were not any really bad injuries thankfully.
I have also been put into a women’s soccer team in Eferding, it is a team of 15-28 year old women and they train twice a week and play once a week, and I am glad for this chance as it will keep off all the weight I am expecting to gain from the chocolate I have eaten!! So along with the horse riding I am hoping to be very fit.
I have been invited all over the country by the other exchange students, and I am hoping to travel a lot in the next few months as well as my tour of Europe which starts on the 6th of May, I should be very busy and I don’t think there will be many chances for me to go to school!! As well as that my school has invited me on an excursion to
My German is improving and my host family has started to speak to me only in German, which although very challenging, I am having fun trying to understand and a little bit of speaking.
And lately, unfortunately I have been sick for a few days (no school) and am hoping to get better extra fast!! Hope this was a great one to read :)
Love Maddi xoxoxo
